QT's original rhythm battle

QT Mod 2.1 brings Boyfriend into a musical encounter with QT and the mechanical threat of KB. Hazard24 and CountNightShade created this release. Its song route begins with Carefree and Careless before moving toward Censory-Overload and the later challenges. Play the original mod online here; QT: Rewired has a separate player and guide on this site.

Where can I play FNF QT Mod 2.1 online?

Click Play Now above to play QT Mod 2.1 online. Let the asset loader finish, then click inside the game to give it keyboard focus. You can also use the standalone player link below if you prefer a separate window.

Prefer a separate game window? Open the standalone game player (opens in a new tab).

Get from the loader to your first song

Use a computer keyboard to play QT Mod 2.1. Allow the first download to finish before entering the menus.

  1. 1. Choose Story Mode

After the title screen, use Story Mode for the week route. Freeplay, Awards, Credits and Options are separate main-menu choices.

  2. 2. Select QT Week and a difficulty

Move down from Tutorial to QT Week. The menu lists Carefree, Careless and Censory-Overload, with Normal selected in this screenshot. Confirm with Enter when ready.

  3. 3. Read the opening exchange

The alley encounter starts with dialogue between QT and Boyfriend. Press Enter to advance each line, then follow your own note targets when the song starts.

  1. Click Play Now and wait for the game's own loading screen.
  2. Click inside the player before using the keyboard.
  3. At the first-run flashing-lights prompt, Enter disables those effects. You can also review them in Options.
  4. Press Enter at the title screen, choose Story Mode, then select QT Week with Down. Left and Right change the offered difficulty; Enter confirms it.
  5. Press Enter to advance the opening dialogue before Carefree begins.
  6. Press the matching arrow keys when your notes meet their targets; hold the direction for a sustained note.
  7. If keys stop responding after using the page toolbar, click back inside the game.

The original QT song route

The original QT song route
TrackWhat to listen for
CarefreeStart here to find QT's opening rhythm and settle into the note targets.
CarelessCarry your timing into the next exchange without rushing the gaps between notes.
Censory-OverloadKeep reading your own lanes as the encounter becomes more intense.
TerminationA later challenge associated with KB. Watch for the encounter's warnings while keeping track of your directional notes.
CessationAn unlockable challenge beyond the opening QT Week songs. Check your progress and the Freeplay selection before your next attempt.

Learn one phrase before chasing the next challenge

Begin with a chart you can read comfortably. Listen to the spaces between inputs and keep your hands near the directional keys. When a phrase gets away from you, recover at the next clear beat instead of pressing every direction at once.

For encounters with an extra warning or hazard, follow this game's on-screen instructions. Return your attention to the note targets after responding. The separate Rewired guide describes its own encounter and should not be used as a timing chart for this build.

Before another QT attempt

Is this the original QT mod or QT: Rewired?

This page features the original QT Mod 2.1. The homepage still features QT: Rewired, which has a different song list and story.

Does this include GO GO GO with CG5 and Ironmouse?

Use the separate QT: Rewired entry for that collaboration. Its Rewired Collab 1 menu is described in the Rewired guide.

Why is a later song missing from my menu?

QT Week begins with Carefree, Careless and Censory-Overload. Termination and Cessation are later challenges; check your progress and the Freeplay selection as you unlock more songs.

Where do I get the original downloadable mod?

Use the original GameBanana release for downloads, update notes and full credits. You can play QT Mod 2.1 online on this page.
